At Gigante Coffee serious consideration is given to all matters regarding economic and environmental sustainability, in both the global and local sense.
In 2003 Gigante Coffee became one of the first Australian roasters to be Fairtrade certified and at the same time became a member of the Fairtrade Association of Australia and New Zealand. In the day to day operation of their business Gigante are constantly looking to minimise their environmental impact and have done this by installing energy efficient lighting and recycling coffee chaff and hessian sacks. Their 1971 Probat roaster is regularly serviced to maintain maximum operating efficiency and they've recently purchased a diesel-run delivery van.
The Drink for Change campaign aimed to save one of the most precious of resources, water. Being a supporter of the campaign fitted well with Gigante's general business philosophy and they spread the word about Drink For Change to the cafes that they service.
Aqua Wizz provided discounts on their pressure compensating flow controllers and on installation services.
Clever Water provided a 12.5% discount on the rental or purchase of any of their products including free installation.
